Nature: Traffic Collision - High Mechanism (Rollovers)

On Wednesday afternoon, June 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road and Silicato Drive.  It was reported to be two vehicle collision with a vehicle roll-over.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Rescue 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.

Emergency response crew assignment included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation. 

It appears that a gold Jeep Liberty and Ford Van collided at the intersection of Silicato Drive and Indian Mission Road causing the Jeep to roll-over.  The occupant of the jeep was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.   The aviation unit was cancelled.

The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close this section of Indian Mission Road for the duration of the incident

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
