Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Oak Orchard Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, June 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident near the intersection of Oak Orchard Road and John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with the possibility of one patient needing observation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, incident mitigation, fluid and debris recovery as well as assistance with removal of vehicle from roadway

It appears that a white Chrysler Town & Country mini-van struck the rear of a grey Ford Escape in the westbound traffic lanes causing disruption to all traffic patterns for both east and west traffic.

The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close this section of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
