Nature: Touch-a-Truck Event

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to participate in a Touch-a-Truck Event at the East Coast Garden Center.

The basic premise is exactly what it sounds like – get a whole bunch of giant trucks, farm equipment, tractors, mowers, emergency vehicles, etc. together in a large parking lot and let kids explore them, sit in the driver’s seat, honk the horn, and generally just marvel at all these huge trucks and equipment.

Indian River’s Rescue 80 and Polaris 80 attended the event as did other local farmer's equipment, towing contractor's equipment, and other commodities.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company utilized this event to distribute educational materials for fire prevention for children and facts-of-life placards for adults. 

Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the event and approximately 250 patrons participated within the undertakings.
