Sunday December, 14 2014 @ 02:10 Nature: Structure Fire Location: 27301 Sea Breeze Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday, December 14th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted for a working structure fire on Sea Breeze Road in White House Beach off of Long Neck Road. While units were responding, the Sussex County Callboard notified by the Delaware State Police, that one structure was fully involved with multiple exposures. Units from Lewes (82) and Milton (85) were responding to previous incident and were redirected to the structure fire. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility. Additional tanker resources from Rehoboth Beach (86), Millsboro (83), Dagsboro (73) were also assigned to this incident. Emergency response assignments included immediate exterior fire suppression activities including activation of an initial deck gun, mitigation of the venting propane tank, and activation of hose lines to provide surrounding exposure coverage. The local ambulance service provider and Sussex County Paramedics did provide pre-hospital EMS care to the some residents of the structure. Additional assignments called for water resource establishments, additional fire suppression lines, interior residential evaluation of exposure properties, and manpower pool allocations. The Georgetown (77) fire company provided standby coverage for Indian River during this incident. The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigation. |
