Nature: Medical Emergency

On Saturday afternoon, May 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to establish a landing zone for a medical emergency in the Oak Orchard area.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as Utility 80-11 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area.

Emergency response crew assignments included establishing a landing zone at the Community Church of Oak Orchard for transportation to a medical facility and providing assistance where needed for the medical incident.
