Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Rosedale Rd and River Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, May 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Rosedale Road, River Road and Gull Point Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle off the roadway into fencing.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts include the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments includes traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization and removal from vehicle, request for notification of animal control, and overall incident mitigation.  Engine 80-1 was cancelled while responding to the incident.

It appears that a white KIA Optima sedan left the roadway at the intersection and hit a nearby residential fence.  It appears that the situation was the result of a medical condition.  Animal control was requested because of two canines in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
