Thursday November, 13 2014 @ 20:47 Nature: Structure Fire Location: Working House Fire Long Neck Rd & Cove Dr., Millsboro, DE 19966 Working Structure Fire - Mariner's Cove On Thursday evening, November 13th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) fire departments were alerted for a working structure fire on Cove Drive, in the Mariner’s Cove development off of Long Neck Road. It was reported to be a working structure fire at the time of dispatch. Emergency response units from Indian River including Tanker 80, Engine #80-1, and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility. Also responding were the Sussex County Paramedics, the local emergency medical service provider, the Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Fire Marshall. Emergency first responders provided a correct address for the structure with heavy fire through the roof on Sussex Lane. Emergency response crew assignments included an aggressive suppression attack with two 1¾” fire suppression lines, interior residential search of the structure, ventilation with roof cuts, and positive pressure fans. Apparatus operators were to initiate a water supply operation as well as breathing apparatus filling process. It appears that a single double-wide manufactured home was fully involved upon arrival of emergency response personnel. The structure was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Once the incident was placed under control, emergency response crews from Millsboro and Lewes were returned to their respective stations. The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is coordinating the investigation of the incident. |
