On Friday, April 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide a stand-by cover up assignment for the Milton (85) Fire Company while they were mitigating an earlier vegetation (brush) fire with many mutual aid companies providing on-scene assistance.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility which responded directly to the Milton Fire House in the Town of Milton to fulfill the stand-by assignment.

Engine #80-3, Ladder 85, and Ambulance 85 did respond to a general fire alarm sounding at a residential location on Crape Myrtle Road off Broadkill Road.

It was determined that the general fire alarm sounding was the result of a culinary mishap.

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
