Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 22916 Pine Rd Lewes, DE 19958

Early Monday morning, October 13th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working structure on Pine Road. It was reported to be loud explosion and neighbors could see fire outside of the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker #80-4 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Rehoboth Beach updated the incident location as being on Camp Arrowhead Road and their Duty Officer requested that the first arriving engine initiate a 1¾” lines to start the fire suppression efforts. Engine #80-3 coordinated this task as the first arriving unit. Additional units utilize other 1¾” fire suppression lines off of Engine #80-3 to combat the incident. The next due apparatus was to assist with the fire hydrant and implement a water supply.

It appears that the residential home facility caught fire while not being occupied.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Camp Arrowhead Road for the duration of the incident.
