Nature: Structure Fire

Location: Pine Lane

Address:  23021 Pine Rd Lewes, DE 19958

Early Thursday morning, September 25th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working structure fire on Pine Lane off of Camp Arrowhead Road in the Angola communities.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency crew assignments included assist with fire suppression, water supply, and overall mitigation. Engine#80-3 was redirected to the provide stand-by coverage for Rehoboth Beach – Station #2.

It appears that a detached garage was fully involved and mostly destroyed before arrival of any responding personnel or apparatus. Rehoboth Beach’s first arriving apparatus initiated two 1¾” fire suppression lines while Lewes and Indian River provided water, lighting, and manpower assistance.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

During the stand-by cover up assignment, Engine #80-3 was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm in Dewey Beach.
