Sunday September, 21 2014 Nature: Tanker 80 Placed In-service Location: Indian River Fire District – Oak Orchard On Sunday, September 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in conjunction with the Truck Committee Members placed the 2,500 gallon Rosenbauer Engine Tanker into service in order to respond to emergency incidents. This emergency response unit is a 7 person custom manufactured fire engine on a Rosenbauer Commander Chassis that carries 2,500 gallons of water. It is equipped with 1000’ of 5” hose; 600’ of 3’ hose; 200’ Blitz line; and four 1¾” pre-connect fire suppression lines. This truck carries a 30 gallon A/B foam tank and is equipped for rapid intervention (RIT Team) and Hurst tools. This piece of apparatus will respond as a first due piece of equipment in all of Indian River’s district; as well as to assist the Millsboro, Georgetown, Lewes, Milton and Rehoboth fire companies when requested.
