Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 28510 Nanticoke Av., Riverdale Beach, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, March 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Nanticoke Ave.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard location and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recover, assistance with getting the patient out of the vehicle, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a black Subaru Forester was traveling down Nanticoke Avenue and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking some brushes before hitting a parked Dodge RAM Pick Up and a detached single car garage structure.

The occupant of the vehicle was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
