Nature: Service Call-Fire (Assist Delaware State Police)

On Friday evening, March 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a service call – fire company assist the Delaware State Police with a search for a missing person.

It was reported that a 7 year old, male subject went missing and efforts were convening to attempt to locate in the Rehoboth Shores area of Long Neck.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80, Utility 80 with Polaris 80 form the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included the initial canvassing of the area in Rehoboth Shores along Red Wing Drive and related areas to the waterfront as well as adjacent area.  It was reported that missing person was last seen approximately 1-2 hours before heading towards the beach or shoreline area of Rehoboth Shores. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that the person was located in the Bay City area and returned safely back to his residence in Rehoboth Shores.

The Delaware State Police and 80 Incident Command coordinated these canvas efforts.
