Saturday September, 20 2014 @ 19:05 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: Holly Lake Rd & John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966 On Saturday evening, September 20th, while operating at the scene of an earlier vehicle accident, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a second vehicle accident at the intersection of Holly Lake Road and John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to be a multiple vehicle collision. Emergency response units from the earlier incident were reassigned to respond. These units included: Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 and Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments were to assist with patient stabilization, scene mitigation, vehicle stabilization, scene preservation, and traffic control. It appears that eastbound traffic was slowing on John J. Williams Highway near the intersection of Holly Lake Road when a tan Ford F150 Pick- up, struck the rear end of a Lexus ES300, which in turn struck a white Hyundai Elantra. The Delaware State Fire Police provide traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident with lane restrictions. The Delaware State Police are investigating. Crews were called for a single vehicle crash where the driver of a pickup truck lost control on Holly Lake Road and rolled down an embankment. While still at that scene, Indian River was called for a chain reaction crash at Holly Lake Road and Rt. 24 where a Ford pickup failed to see slowing traffic and rear-ended Lexus, which rear-ended a Hyundai. State Police are investigating. |
