Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Bulls Eye Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, March 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wires down incident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Bulls Eye Lane.  It was reported that a trash become entangled in some low hanging wires that crossed the highway.  The wires were torn apart and catapulted into other energized electrical wirings causing a traffic hazard for both east and west bound traffic patterns.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Cheif 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units coordinated traffic control pending arrival of Delmarva Power & Light for corrective action.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.
