Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 34144 Camp Arrowhead Ln, Lewes, DE 19958

Early Monday morning, September 8th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working structure on Camp Arrowhead Road and Dylan Lane near Angola Crest I. It was reported to be fully involved and the occupants were outside of the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Rehoboth Beach’s Duty Officer – Jeff Blizzard requested that the first arriving engine initiate a 2½” blitz line to start the fire suppression efforts. Engine #80-1 coordinated this task as the first arriving unit. Additional units utilize other 1¾” fire suppression lines off of Engine #80-1 to combat the incident. The next due apparatus was to hit the fire hydrant and implement a water supply via 5” large diameter hose.

It appears that the manufactured home facility caught fire while being occupied and the tenants were able to escape. The manufactured structure was a complete loss.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Camp Arrowhead Road for the duration of the incident.

The Millsboro (83) Fire Company provided standby coverage for Indian River during the incident.
