Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Banks Rd & Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, August 31, 2014, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the Banks Road intersection. It was reported to be two vehicles and a young child involved.

Emergency response units included Incident Command 80, Utility 80, Brush #80-0; Brush #80-00, and Engine #80-5 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, scene mitigation, traffic control and debris clean up. It appears that a white compact car was traveling north on Long Neck Road and attempted to turn onto School Lane in the path of a brown Chevrolet compact car. There was an infant child in the Chevrolet.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police monitored traffic patterns for the duration of the incident.
