Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

On Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2022, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wires down incident on Cordrey Road in the vicinity of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation activities, notification of the respective utility service providers, traffic control, and overall assistance.

It appears that a tractor trailer was attempting to make a turn around and the overhead wirings  got snagged between the cab and the trailer of the truck.  There was not any disconnection of services associated with the event.  Emergency response personnel assistance with extraction measures and were able to return to their respective station.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
