Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 25285 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday morning, August 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of the Baywood Maintenance Yard. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, the Delaware State Fire Police, the Delaware State Police as well as the local emergency service provider.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, vehicle occupant stabilization, if needed, traffic control and overall scene mitigation. It appears that a red Chevrolet Aveo was traveling east on Banks Road and failed to successfully navigate the roadway for an unknown reason striking a tree on the opposite shoulder of the roadway.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
