Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd & School Ln., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, August 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Long Neck Road and School Lane. It was reported to be two vehicles and possibly two persons desiring additional medical attention.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization and assist with patient stabilization, if needed, as well as fluid and debris recovery. The fire police were requested to coordinate traffic arrangements knowing that School Lane access was restricted.

It appears that a red Nissan sedan was traveling west on School Lane and collidied with s silver Toyota sedan that was traveling east on School Lane at the Long Neck intersection. It is believe that the Toyota was attempting to turn left onto Long Neck Road.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
