Nature: Vacation Bible School Invites First Responders

Location: Oak Orchard Community Church

During the week, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and many first responders have collaborated to assist the Community Church of Oak Orchard with many interesting topics to enhance awareness of the emergency responders and support this year’s theme of Jesus – Our Rescuer!

This year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) theme will be Jesus to the Rescue with a different emergency response theme focus each night. The following schedule is anticipated:

Monday, July 28th – Water Rescue with Indian River’s Water Rescue Team providing a display and demonstration;

Tuesday, July 29th – Delaware State Police with Master Corporal George Comacho, Community Outreach providing a display and demonstration;

Wednesday, July 30th – Fire Prevention, Rescue Truck & Fire Awareness with Indian River’s Fire Prevention providing a display and demonstration;

Thursday, July 31st – Sussex County Paramedics providing a display and demonstration; and

Friday, August 1st – Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office providing a display and demonstration.
