Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 33284 - 33321 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, July 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Pot Nets Bayside entrance. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police, and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response unit assignments included vehicle stabilization, and assisting with patient stabilization.

It appears that a 4-door silver sedan was traveling north on Long Neck Road and left the roadway for an unknown reasons striking numerous feet of split rail fencing before striking a tree. One occupant of the vehicle was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated fire police for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
