Nature: Vehicle Fire

Location: Bay Farm Rd & Trinity Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, July 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Bay Farm Road near Trinity Road. It was reported to be a golf cart on the shoulder of the road fully involved.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility; Engine #80-3 and Incident Command 80 from the Long Neck area, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Delaware State Fire Marshall; and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response assignments included fire suppression activities, traffic control activities and scene preservations. Engine #80-1 was requested to activate the 1¾” trash line.

It appears that a privately owned golf was squandered with ill intent from within the Pot Nets development, driven though the fencing, and ignited on fire.

The origin and activities of the event are under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshall.
