Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of WMF Watercraft.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with unknown information regarding injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignment included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed as well as fluid and debris recovery.   At least one person was transported for additional observation at the nearby medical facility.

It appears that a black Dodge Nitro and a white Jeep Compass collided on John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigation.
