Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: American Legion (80) 26462 - 26475 John J Will Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, June 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between American Legion Road and Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be three vehicles with minor injuries.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 and Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-5 and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control measures, and scene preservation. It appears that a black Volkswagen sedan, a white Ford sedan, a Pontiac compact car all collided while traveling on John J. Williams Highway. The initial impact involved the Volkswagen and the Ford and then hitting the Pontiac.

The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to close John J. Williams Highway for the initial assessment of the incident and then limited to minor traffic patterns for the duration of the incident.

The local emergency medical service provider did transport some of the vehicles’ occupants for additional observation.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
