Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 28521 Okwaw Ave., Riverdale Beach, DE 19966

On Tuesday, January 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wires down incident on Okwaw Avenue in Riverdale Park.  It was identified as a tractor trailer car hauler encountering low hanging wires within the residential community.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response units verify the utility pole information and notified the Delmarva Power for inspection of the low hanging wires.  The other wires laying on the trailer were cable utility wires.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control on the impact street until the truck was able to vacate the roadway.

The respective utility companies will evaluate the residential homeowner concerns.
