Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Friday, January 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the Mary Mother of Peace Church property off Mount Joy Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper 2), the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a single vehicle overturned.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units were requested to evaluate the five occupants of the vehicle as possible refusals for additional medical services and cancelled aviation and paramedics prior to arrival. Fire apparatus were cancelled upon their arrival at the incident location.

It appears at a blue Ford F-150 pick up lost control while traveling on Mount Joy Road left the roadway and overturned on the church property.

All occupants refused additional EMS services.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
