Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Oak Orchard Rd & John J W Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, June 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the intersection of Mount Joy Road and Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be two vehicles in the intersection.

Emergency response crews included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, the Delaware State Fire Police, and the Delaware State Police as well as the local emergency services provider.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient assessment and stabilization, vehicle stabilization and fluid recovery measures, as well as traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a dark blue Dodge Caravan was attempting to traverse the intersection from Oak Orchard Road and collided with a black Toyota sedan that was traveling south from Mount Joy Road.

There were two vehicle occupants transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control measures for the duration of the incident with limited traffic patterns.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
