Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Beaver Dam Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Monday afternoon, December 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Indian Mission Road and Beaver Dam Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision at this intersection with possible entrapment.  Additional emergency alerted included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard location and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, vehicle separation to extricate one of the occupants, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a white Chevrolet Malibu and a Jeep Cherokee collided at the intersection of the Indian Mission Road and Beaver Dam Road.  The occupant of the Cherokee was evaluated for additional emergency services.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control assistance with the closure of the intersection for Beaver Dam Road traffic.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
