Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Arrowhead Trl Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, December 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Arrowhead Trail.  It was reported to be single vehicle, overturned with the possibility of wires down.  Additional emergency alerted included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery where needed, traffic control with limited traffic patterns for the duration of the incident, notification of the utility service provider and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a Honda sedan was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking a utility pole and overturning.  The utility pole was broken in two requiring complete replacement.

All occupants of the vehicle refused additional medical attention.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
