Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Sloan Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday, December 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad and Sussex County Paramedics were alerted for a vehicle accident just east of the intersection of John J. Williams Hwy. and Sloan Rd.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police while Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility was held at the Station.

The incident was reported by a Delaware State Trooper that came upon the incident. It was reported to be a two-vehicle rear end collision with one patient.

Emergency response crew assignments included limiting scene access to provide a safe area for EMS crews to perform a brief patient evaluation, fluid and debris recovery, and traffic control.

One patient was transported to nearby medical facilities for further evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control until apparatus were cleared.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
