Nature: Structure Fire – Standby Assignment for Millsboro (83)

Location: 30400-30645 Conaway Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide a cover-up or stand-by assignment for the Millsboro (83) Fire Company while they attended to a working fire on Conaway Road.

Originally, Millsboro (83) and Gumboro (79) were alerted for a structure fire on Conaway Road.  This alarm was identified as a fully involved chicken house fire with exposure concerns from first arriving personnel.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 to Millsboro for the stand-by assignment until their personnel were back in service for their respective fire district.

Many other mutual aid companies were impacted by this incident which included but not limited to:  Georgetown (77), Laurel (81), Dagsboro (73), Frankford (76) and Wicomico County Station 14 as well as local emergency medical service units and Sussex County Paramedics.
