Wednesday, May, 7 2014 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: John J. Williams near the Entrance to Food Lion Address: 24832 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday afternoon, May 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Food Lion. While cleaning up and clearing an earlier accident scene on Indian Mission Road, the Indian River VFC was alerted for a vehicle accident immediately adjacent to it’s current location. Emergency response crews included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Fire Police and as well as the Delaware State Police. Emergency response crew assignments included patient and vehicle stabilization, where necessary, as with traffic and scene mitigation, as well as providing assistance to the occupants of the vehicles. It appears that maroon Chevrolet sedan was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway, lost control, striking a westbound black Nissan sedan that was approaching the intersection.
