Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 28025 Purple Martin Circle, Peninsula Lakes, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, December 7^th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a structure fire on Purple Martin Circle in the Peninsula Lakes development off Bay Farm Road. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from the Indian River VFC included Tower 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and 80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities, establishment of water supply, set-up ladder access to the roof of the structure, roof ventilation, salvage and recovery where needed, incident mitigation, scene access limitation, and traffic control where needed.

It appears that the fire originated on the porch of the structure in the ceiling area and extended into the eaves and exterior of the structure causing significant damage to the residential structure.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access during the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

There were no civilian and/or firefighter injuries.
