Nature: Vehicle Fire

Address: 30737 Gull Point Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, April 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Gull Point Road in the vicinity of John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to be single vehicle fully involved.

Emergency response units included: Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments were to mitigate and suppress the vehicle fire, provide traffic control and roadway closure assistance. The section of Gull Point Road was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance. It appears that a small compact car was traveling on Gull Point Road and caught fire.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.  There were no reported injuries.

Car Goes Up in Flames Near Millsboro

Delaware State Police today will try to determine what sparked a fire in a car on Gull Point Road near Millsboro Tuesday night.

Firemen from Indian River got the call just before midnight; arriving units found the car fully engulfed in flames. It appears that a small compact car was traveling on Gull Point Road when it caught fire.

No word yet on any injuries in the incident.
