Nature: Outside Fire

Location: 24795 - 24799 Mallard Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, 04/24/14 at approximately 12:26 hours, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to an Outside Fire at the above incident location.  

Upon arrival,  it was determined that due to wind and weather conditions, a small controlled burn ignited the adjoining woods area behind the residence. Units were assigned to provide fire suppression services via saturation and area overhaul.

Emergency response crews included: Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility; Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility; Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility; Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility; and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Controlled Burn Ignites Adjoining Woods in Millsboro

A controlled burn ignites adjoining woods on fire.

Indian River firemen were alerted to an outside fire at 24799 Mallard Lane in Millsboro around 12:30 Thursday afternoon.

Arriving units determined that due to wind and weather conditions, a small controlled burn ignited a wooded area behind the house.

No injuries were reported.
