Monday April, 21 2014 @ 18:15:00 Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS Address: John J Williams Hwy & Banks Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday evening, April 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the intersection of Banks Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree with two occupants in the vehicle. Emergency response crews included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the Sussex County Paramedics. Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization, if necessary, and to coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. It appears that a silver Ford Focus was traveling on Banks Road and failed to successfully navigate the intersection at John J. Williams Highway. The Focus continued traveling over John J. Williams Highway into a wooded area striking trees. The occupants of the vehicle were transported to nearby medical facilities of additional evaluation by the local emergency medical service provider. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
