Sunday, April 13rd, 2014 Recruitment & Retention Day… As many other Delaware volunteer fire companies embark upon a statewide initiative to foster and promote “recruitment and retention initiatives” for future volunteer fire company personnel. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company mans both stations (Oak Orchard and Long Neck) in order to promote this statewide recruitment effort. Each and every day, ordinary people like you are helping out in their communities in ways that are often invisible but very valuable. These everyday heroes are making a difference at their local Volunteer Fire Company by volunteering their time to ensure continuous and professional protection for their family, friends, and neighbors - and you. Do you have what it takes to become a volunteer firefighter in the State of Delaware? -- Contact your local fire company. Make a difference. Volunteer today! Rich Toulson, DVFA President recently stated “...In an effort to recruit volunteers and educate the public about the role they play in protecting Delawareans, volunteer fire companies up and down the state will open their doors to community members on Sunday, April 13. Each Volunteer station in the state will be open to the public and offering a family-friendly event from Noon to 4PM. Activities will vary by station and include fire demonstrations, exhibits, station tours, and much more...” Additional information may be obtained by viewing the following websites: |
