Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Oak Meadow Dr. and Oak Orchard Rd., Oak Meadows, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, November 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road at Oak Meadows Drive.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with both vehicles remaining in the roadway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistant with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation. 

It appears that a Dodge Avenger sedan and a Jeep Cherokee SUV collided at the intersection of Oak Orchard Road and Oak Meadows Drive causing inoperable frontal damage to both vehicles and minor injuries to the occupants.

The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to close Oak Orchard Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
