Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Lewes (82) – Working Incident

On Saturday morning, November 13th, the Indian River (80), Rehoboth Beach (86), Milton (85) were alerted to assist the Lewes (82) Fire Department with a working residential structure fire. Additional emergency alerted included the Sussex County Paramedics.
Initial reports advised of a fire in the garage, with subjects still inside the residence. On the arrival of fire apparatus, fire suppression attack lines were placed into service and a primary search was completed. The residential structure searches revealed negative results for occupants. Firefighters worked for over two hours performing fire suppression, overhaul, ventilation, water supply operations, and overall incident mitigation.
Indian River’s responding units included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-3 from the Long Neck facility.
The Millsboro (83) Fire Company provided a coverup assignment for Indian River and responded to a second alarm for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Sloan Rd and John J Williams Hwy, along with Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad and Rescue 80.
Other mutual aid companies provided standby or cover up assignments included Memorial (89), Georgetown (77) and Bethany Beach (70) for the on scene responding companies.
There were no reported injuries.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
