Nature: Dumpster Fire

Location: Recycle Station

Address: Mount Joy Rd

On Sunday morning, April 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dumpster fire at the Recycle Station on Mount Joy Road. It was reported by Chief Deery who was traveling nearby and identified the smoldering dumpster fire.

Emergency response units included: Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility; Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility, Incident Command #80-10; and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation by activating the front trash line to douse the dumpster fire incident in order to extinguish.

It appears that the cardboard filled dumpster fire was smoldering for a period of time. The incident was limited to the one dumpster.
