Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Wednesday morning, March 5th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of Shawn’s Hide-a-way. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a telephone pole.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, scene assessments, traffic control and information transmittal for repair of the applicable utilities impacted.

It appears that a gray Toyota Camry was traveling on Banks Road approaching Shawn’s Hide-a-way and lost control due to the snow and icy conditions striking a telephone utility box and utility phone. The operator of the vehicle did not require any additional emergency medical services from the local emergency medical services provider.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
