Indian River Provides Long Neck Elementary School with 2021 Fire Prevention Campaign
Due to the ongoing pandemic and its related precautions, our fire prevention efforts remain limited and we are not able to schedule full fire prevention educational and recreational programs at the current time. As our community continues to recover, we hope to resume scheduling tours and visits in the near future. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Fire Prevention Team within the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has been diligently working to coordinate the various activities and events associated with the 2021 National Fire Prevention Week theme of “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety™”
On Sunday, October 2th, the Fire Prevention Team kicked off the Fire Prevention Week with a visit to Rehoboth Beach VFC to participate with their Annual Open House and fire prevention program - http://www.irvfc.com/gallery/detail/43389.
For the 2021 Fire Prevention Week educational curriculum, the Fire Prevention Team prepared instructional packets to be distributed and shared with students of all grade levels - http://www.irvfc.com/gallery/detail/43386. This grade specific materials included:

Indian River’s Fire Prevention Cohort is dedicated to reducing fire and life safety risks at schools, preschools, daycares and in the community. Our scheduled program activities are prepared to:
-
engage and educate preschool and school-aged children about fire prevention, fire and life safety and the role of firefighters in helping keep them safe.
-
providing integrated, quality teaching resources and opportunities to stay safe.
-
providing specific age-appropriate messages and skills.
