Nature: Pre-arranged Standby Assignment – Funeral Detail – Mill Creek Fire Company

Location: Kirkwood Highway - New Castle County

On Tuesday, September 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided a designated standby crew to permit the Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Company to coordinate and conduct funeral arrangements for one of their own.  These assignments included a fully staffed aerial (tower) truck assignment from Indian River as well as an Engine crew from Odessa & Avondale volunteer fire companies.

A standby crew consists of a minimum number of firefighters, fully equipped and trained, SHALL be on standby outside the designated location to provide assistance or perform rapid response, if needed.
