Indian River Attends Carillon Woods Meet & Greet Community Event

On Wednesday, September 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to participate with a Meet & Greet Community Initiative for the Carillon Woods community to come together in an effort to build relationships.

Community Meet & Greets are intended to be method for introductions of neighbor or building a sense of belonging and building a sense of community which could include safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.

During the Carillon Woods’ Meet & Greet, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company collaborated with its Fire Prevention Cohort and provided various discussions for fire prevention and fire safety, Facts of Life as well as a fire prevention items with educational and informational hand-outs for topics which included but not limited to:

  • Apparatus Display & Discussion

  • Fire Safety Topics

  • Fire Prevention Topics

  • Smoke Detector Awareness

  • Wildfire Risk Reduction & Safety Tips

  • Light the Night Event

Approximately 200 persons attended the event which included great discussion and dialogue regarding the above referenced topics as well as firefighter recruitment and retention possibilities.
