Working Structure Fire – Pot Nets Bayside

On Tuesday afternoon, Febury 4th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82) and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a working structure on Starboard Court in the Pot Nets Bayside development off of Long Neck Road.  Immediate arriving fire police officers alerted responding units to a fully involved fire condition.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Delaware State Police, the Office of the State Fire Marshall, the Sussex County Paramedics, as well as the local emergency medical services provider.  Other surrounding companies were alerted to provide stand-by cover up assignments for the primary dispatched departments.

Emergency response crew assignments included initial fire suppression and extinquishment measures, roof and other ventilation measures, establish water supply operations, as well as deployment of rapid intervention teams (RIT) for interior fire suppression activities as well as other fire ground operation assignments.

It appears that the manufactured home was not occupied at the time of the fire and that heavy damage was sustained.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries associated with the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal Office is investigating.
