On Sunday, September 26^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide assistance with the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company (RBVFC) that was actively working at a structure fire incident on Jersey Street in Dewey Beach.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility to Rehoboth Beach Station #2 facility.  Standby units were dispatched to a brush fire off of Holland Glade Road along with some departing apparatus from the fire scene.

The Rehoboth Beach (86), Lewes (82), and Bethany Beach (70) fire companies were alerted for a structure.  Illustrated herewith is an incident synopsis published via the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

• House Fire Dewey Beach - Sunday, September 26, 2021

RBVFC units responded to a structure fire at 119 Jersey Street in Dewey Beach on Sunday afternoon September 26th. Crews arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a single-story residence. Fire damaged the rear of the home which was occupied at the time. One minor injury was reported to a firefighter with no other injuries to any occupants. Rehoboth Beach Firefighters were assisted by Lewes and Bethany Beach at the scene. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating. Units were on location for over 2 hours.
