Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Sunday morning, February 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the local emergency medical services provider were alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Indian Mission Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included to coordinate vehicle and patient stabilization, implement traffic control measures and pattern flow restrictions to permit intersection continuity, scene preservation as well as other incident mitigation tasks.

It appears that a red Honda compact car was traveling on Indian Mission Road and a black Ford pick-up was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and collided for an unknown reason. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and two vehicle occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
