Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 31039 Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, September 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road between Arrie Lane and Cannon Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle, overturned with a utility pole and wires down.

Emergency responses units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient care where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a Nissan SUV type vehicle was traveling south on Indian Mission Road and veered off the left side of the roadway for unknown reasons striking a utility pole and overturning. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of Indian Mission Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police are investigating.
