Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Saturday evening, September 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Beach Drive in the Massey’s Landing Campground off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. It was reported to be a single golf cart incident involving an occupant falling off.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control and incident mitigation.

It appears that a golf cart occupant was fall from the vehicle causing injuring requiring medical attention.  It was determined that the Rescue 80 was not needed and cancelled while aviation while overhead.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
